Kunal Nayyar (born on April 30, 1981 in London, England) is a British-Indian actor. Kunal grew up in New Delhi, India, attending St. Columbia’s School before enrolling at University of Portland in Oregon. While working on his business degree, Kunal discovered his love of acting, appearing in several plays. He attended the American College Theater Festival before enrolling at Temple University. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Acting. Kunal found work in American television ads and on the London stage. His role in the West Coast production of Huck & Holden got people buzzing. He appeared on an episode of NCIS before he was cast as Dr. Raj Koothrappali on the hit CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory. Kunal has also appeared on episodes of The Late Late Show and The Mindy Project, while appearing in movies Dr. Cabbie, The Scribbler and Ice Age: Continental Drift. In 2015, he joined an off-Broadway production of The Spoils, a play written and starring Jesse Eisenberg. In 2015, he published a book titled Yes, My Accent Is Real: And Some Other Things I Haven’t Told You.

Kunal married Neha Kapur, the Miss India 2006 winner, in 2011. He shares a birthday (though he is six years younger) with his Big Bang co-star, Johnny Galecki. While in high school, he played badminton for the school team. As of 2015, he is the joint third highest-paid male TV actor.
