Bio:
Klay Thompson (born Klay Alexander Thompson in Los Angeles, California on February 8, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. Klay is the son of former NBA star Mychal Thompson. When Klay won the NBA title in 2015, he and his father became the fourth father-son duo to do so. Beginning in 2008, Klay played three seasons of college basketball at Washington State University. After his junior year in college, in 2011, Klay was selected 11th in the NBA draft. He was selected to the NBA All-Star team in 2015 and 2016.
Best Known For:
Klay is best known for being a shooting guard on the 2015 championship winning Warriors team. As a freshman at Washington State, he started all 33 games before being named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen team.
Personal Life:
Klay comes from a family of athletes. In addition to his father who was an NBA star, Klay’s brothers are also professional athletes. His older brother Mychel Thompson played in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers and his younger brother Trayce Thompson plays baseball in the MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
