Bio:
Ken Howard (born March 28, 1944, in El Centro, CA) was an American actor best known for his starring role on TV’s The White Shadow, as well as being the President of the Screen Actors Guild. Ken attended the Yale School of Drama. He began his acting career on Broadway in the 1970 play Promises, Promises and won a Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (dramatic) for Child’s Play. He got his big TV break when he was cast in the title role of The White Shadow in 1978, playing a former pro basketball player who becomes a high school teacher and basketball coach, turning around the lives of his ethnically diverse team. After the show ended in 1981, he went on to star on Dynasty and its spin-off The Colbys. He also guest-starred on countless other TV shows, including: NYPD Blue, The Practice, Murder She Wrote, Boston Legal, Cold Case, Dirty Sexy Money, Brothers and Sisters, Law & Order: SVU, Curb Your Enthusiasm,  The Closer and Blue Bloods. He was most recently seen as a recurring character on NBC’s 30 Rock. In 2009 he won a Best Supporting Actor In A TV Movie or Miniseries for HBO’s Grey Gardens opposite Jessica Lange. He was elected National President of the Screen Actors Guild on September 24, 2009, and held that position until his March 23, 2016 death

Personal Life:
Ken was married three times. His current wife was former stunt woman Linda Fetters who he wed in 1992 and was with until his death. He was previously married to Margo Howard (1977 – 1991), and to actress Louise Sorel (1973 – 1975). Ken died at his Los Angeles area home on March 23, 2016, the cause of death has not been released.
