Kechi

Bio:
Kechi (born Kechi Okwuchi in Orlu, Imo State on October 29, 1989) is a singer on America’s Got Talent. Kechi captivated America’s hearts with her incredible story of survival, after she was one of two survivors from the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 crash in 2005. The flight was carrying Kechi and her classmates from her boarding school in Nigeria, and all 116 people on board perished, except for Kechi and one other person. Kechi partially lost her vision in the accident and over 65% of her body was burned. She has undergone 100 surgeries to date and moved to Texas with her family to continue treatments. Kechi blew everyone away with her powerful voice in an audition for America’s Got Talent, and received praise for her performances going forward from guest judge Seal. She is currently in the semifinal round of AGT season 12!

Personal Life:
Kechi graduated from the University of Thomas in Houston in 2015 with a degree in Economics. She’s currently pursuing a MBA in Economics at University of Thomas in Houston.
