Joyce Mitchell

Bio:
Joyce Mitchell is an industrial training supervisor at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York. She began working at the penitentiary in 2010, where she supervised inmate work assignments. In June 2015, Joyce was accused of helping convicts Richard Matt and David Sweat escape the prison, and sneaking in contraband to assist them. She had previously been investigated for an alleged relationship with one of the inmates, and sources reported that she was even supposed to be the mens’ getaway driver after their escape on June 6. However, she checked herself into the hospital instead for a “case of nerves.” Joyce was arrested on June 12, and charged with two felonies: Promoting Prison Contraband and Criminal Facilitation

Joyce was married to her high school sweetheart, Tobey Premo, and together they had a son. However, Tobey claims they divorced when he found out she was cheating on him with Lyle Mitchell. There are allegations that she had a relationship with Richard Matt, a prisoner in the correctional facility where she worked, but evidence in that investigation were inconclusive.
