Jon Ryan (born Jonathan Robert Ryan on November 26, 1981 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian professional football player. When Jon was 8, he dressed up as a punter for Halloween. He pursued football in high school, playing many positions. He focused on being a punter while playing for the University of Regina’s football team. During his college football career, Jon won Special Teams Player from the school and was named a Canada West All Star. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Jon in 2004. During his rookie season, he finished second in punting average, before leading the Canadian Football League in 2005. In 2006, Jon joined the NFL, signing with the Green Bay Packers. During his time with the Packers, Jon tied for second longest kick in Franchise history when he nailed a 72-yard punt. The Seattle Seahawks signed Jon in 2008. Jon became the first player from Saskatchewan to win the Super Bowl in 2014. He became the first punter to throw a touchdown pass in 2015. Jon competed on Season 7 of American Ninja Warrior, failing to get past the third obstacle.
