John Stossell (born John Frank Stossell on March 6, 1947 in Chicago Heights, Illinois) is an American Libertarian pundit and Fox News consumer reporter. John was a fixture on ABC until 2009, when he left to join Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel. There he hosts his own show Stossell, where he combines reporting and his own commentary. He is a staunch Libertarian, and many of his pieces are about preserving the free market system. On April 21, 2016 he admitted in an article that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Personal Life:
John Stossell was one of two brothers raised in Chicago by his Jewish parents. He says he was the less ambitious of the two brothers, though he went to Princeton. He had a problem with stuttering, which was cured after working on several small-market news shows. In 1981, John started working on 20/20, and did so until he made the switch to Fox. John is a libertarian and is agnostic. He lives in New York City with his wife Ellen Abrams and two kids Lauren and Max. He was diagnosed with lung cancer on April 21, 2016.
