Joe Keery (born in Heredia, Costa Rica on Apr. 24, 1992) is an American actor. After graduating from DePaul University in 2014, Joe began to pursue a professional career in acting. He reportedly went to over one hundred auditions before landing his first role. He made his acting debut in the comedy series Sirens in 2015. He also appeared in Fox’s Empire and Chicago Fire. He got his big break in 2016, when he was cast as Steve Harrington in the Netflix original series Stranger Things.
