Bio:
Gloria Gaynor (born September 7, 1949 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American singer. In the 1960s, she sang with a group called the Soul Satisfiers, then was signed to Columbia Records in 1975. She released her record Never Can Say Goodbye in 1975, and twelve albums after that. In 1980, her hit “I Will Survive” won Best Disco Recording at the Grammy Awards. Gaynor’s most recent solo album is 2002’s I Wish You Love. She was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005, and wrote a book titled We Will Survive: True Stories of Encouragement, Inspiration, and the Power of Song in 2013.
