Bio:
Gabe Rygaard (born in 1972 in Port Angeles, Washington) was an American lumberjack. Gabe came to fame as one of the stars of the History Channel reality show Ax Men, which followed his family’s Port Angeles, Washington logging business. He was the owner and president of Rygaard Logging, started in 1991 by his father, Craig Rygaard. Gabe also owned timber brokerage company Ryfield Properties Inc. in Port Angeles and Penny Creek Quarry in Quilcene, Washington. In 2016, Gabe ran for Clallam County Commissioner, but did not make it to the general election. On September 16, 2016, Gabe died as a result of his injuries from a three-car crash on Highway 101 in Port Angeles. He was not wearing his seatbelt when he hit the back of a car in front of him, and veered into oncoming traffic.

Personal Life:
Gabe was married to Katy Rygaard, who was also his business partner. Together, they had three children, ranging in ages from 10 to 19 (Aiden Rygaard, who worked at Logging). He had a brother, Jason Rygaard.
