Bio:
Foluke Akinradewo (born Foluke Atinuke Akinradewo in London, Ontario, Canada, on October 5, 1987) is an American-Canadian-Nigerian volleyball player. She played middle blocker for Stanford University, earning several honors while helping lead her team to three consecutive NCAA title matches. After playing for Stanford, Foluke trained with the U.S. women’s national team in 2008, eventually competing with them in the 2012 London Olympics and earning a silver medal. Foluke continued playing with Azerbaijan club team Rabita Baku, but competed with the USA national team once again in the 2014 World Championship where they won the gold medal. She was asked back to the team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Best Known For:
Foluke is best known for being a middle blocker on the U.S. women’s national volleyball team, competing in two Olympics with the team.
Personal Life:
Foluke had a longtime boyfriend, Joe Cartwright, whom she dated for 8 years as of March 2014. She hasn’t shared any pictures with him on her personal Instagram since then, so it’s unclear whether they’re still together.
