Elena Vesnina

Bio:
Elena Vesnina (born Elena Sergeyevna Vesnina on August 1, 1996, in Sochi, Russia) is a Russian professional tennis player. She started playing the sport at seven years old, and began playing competitively in 2002, when she was just 16 years old. Elena has won two Grand Slam titles as a doubles player, at Wimbledon in 2010 and the U.S. Open in 2014, with her partner, Ekaterina Makarova. The ladies were also runners-up in six other major tournaments, and Elena won a mixed doubles Grand Slam with Bruno Soares at the 2016 Australian Open. She reached the Semifinals of Wimbledon 2016, where she went up against World No. 1, Serena Williams.
