Derrick Henry (born Derrick Henry on July 17, 1994 in Yulee, Florida) is a college football player. The tailback for the University of Alabama’s famed Crimson Tide, he holds incredible records as just a junior; in 2015, he rushed for an SEC-record 1,986 yards on 339 carries, and scored 23 touchdowns. He won the prestigious Heisman Trophy in 2015, as well as the Doak Walker Award and Max Walker Award; he’s the first first running back to win the Maxwell Award and Heisman Trophy since Ron Dayne in 1999. Derrick was also a football superstar, and credits the influence of his grandmother for much of his success in life.

Derrick is best known as the tailback for the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide, and the winner of the 2015 Heisman Trophy.
Personal Life:
Derrick is the son of Derrick Henry Sr. and Stacy Veal, who had him as teenagers. He was largely raised by his grandmother, Gladys Henry, whom he thanked in his speech for her love and support. He has 12 aunts and 25 cousins.
