Bio:
Darrell Ward (born August 13, 1964) was an American trucker and reality television star. Growing up in Montana, Darrell came from a trucking family. He and his grandparents ran harvest rigs, and he had 30 years of experience when he joined the cast of the popular History Channel reality television show, Ice Road Truckers. Darrell was made a cast in Season 6, but quickly became a fan favorite due to his self-proclaimed “adrenaline junkie” attitude and for his big heart, as he would often help fellow truckers in need – even his rivals. He was member of the main cast up until Season 10. When he wasn’t driving trucks, he would help local authorizes fight forest fires. Darrell tragically died on Aug. 28, 2016, in a plane crash near Rock Creek, Montana. Darrell was returning from The Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Texas, when he and his co-pilot crashed near the Rock Creep airstrip. Darrell was about to film a documentary style show about the recover of plane wrecks.

Personal Life:
Darrell was a father and a grandfather. He was an also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes and more. He was also involved in giving back to his community. He organized a food drive to help those affected by the 2016 flooding in Louisiana, and was named the grand marshal for the Truck Convoy for the Special Olympics in Nova Scotia, Canada. His motto was “Any Road, Any Load.”
