Congrats go out to 34-year -old Javier Colon, the dad of two from Stratford, CT who walked away with the title of The Voice, on last night’s finale of NBC‘s breakout hit. And don’t think there were any hard feelings from the other three finalists, Dia Frampton, Beverly McClellan or Vicci Martinez. All his competitors believed in him , as well as his coach Adam Levine, and were secretly hoping he would walk away the winner! Why? He’s truly a family man.
The Voice coaches aren’t wasting their time playing games with their fans — only one day after season one’s finale aired, NBC announces all four coaches will be returning next season! “Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of The Voice this year, and we are thrilled that they are all returning,” said Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming at NBC and Universal Media Studios. “We look forward to building Season 2 and making ‘The Voice’ an even greater experience for fans.”
This year, Selena is nominated for “Choice Music” in the categories of group, single, and love song, whereas Justin is only nominated for the “Choice Music: Male Artist” award. Let’s see who brings home the awards that night! Aside from Justin and Selena, who are sure-to-be hot topics at the Teen Choice Awards this year, The Black Eyed Peas are also up for three awards and Taylor Swift has a total of five nominations!
Last week a person who works on The Voice told HollywoodLife.com that the top eight contestants were going on tour this summer. The Hollywood Reporter also has multiple sources confirming this tour. Vicci Martinez, Nakia, Javier Colon, Dia Frampton, Casey Weston, Xenia, Beverly McClellan and Frenchie Davis will be hitting the road (reportedly without the coaches,) but our insider says producers are contemplating adding a few other contestants as well!
The newest take on a singing-competition reaity show, The Voice, takes four successful music artists and makes them coaches responsible for selecting aspiring singers to form their own teams. In order to compete with other reality shoes, NBC pulled out all the stops and selected a high profile panel of coaches, ( John Mayer was considered for the show) including Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera. Yet not all four of the stars are treated equally in terms of salary.
