Lawmakers in Florida, New York, West Virginia, and Oklahoma all announced that they plan to propose a version of “Caylee’s Law”, which would punish parents/guardians who do not notify authorities when a child goes missing. This announcement comes after an online petition for the creation of such a law went viral and received 300,000 signatures only two days after Casey Anthony‘s “not guilty” ruling!
Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting to see if Casey Anthony was going to walk out of the courtroom on July 7 a free woman but instead she’s headed back to jail. Judge Belvin Perry asserted his power as much as possible by sentencing Casey to one year in jail for each of the four counts of lying to police. HollyBaby.com spoke with legendary prosecutor and former Assistant US Attorney of New York Raoul Felder as to whether the judge’s ruling was too harsh.
It’s not exactly making you pay the price for the murder of your daughter. After all the jury admitted they didn’t have enough evidence to do that. But clearly the judge was as sick to his stomach about the verdict as the jurors, who admitted they couldn’t legally convict you.
Judge Belvin Perry handed Casey Anthony the maximum sentence of four year-long sentences for the four counts of lying to law enforcement officials, to be served consecutively. But he conceded she could be free ‘by August, maybe late July.”
We can’t say we blame the members of Casey Anthony‘s jury for refusing interviews yesterday after the world was shocked by their verdict finding the 25-year-old mother ‘not guilty.’ However, we have been dying to know what actually happened behind those court room walls — and now one of the jurors, Jennifer Ford, is speaking for the first time!
Casey Anthony will never serve time for first degree murder, manslaughter or aggravated child abuse after the jury acquitted her of those charges. This even applies if she were ever to fess up to the crime or if new evidence implied otherwise. And no prosecutor can do anything about it. Seriously?
Here’s the reason so many of us feel sick about you, Casey Anthony, getting off the hook for murdering Caylee, your two-year-old. We understand that HUGE questions were never answered by the prosecution ie: how Caylee died? why there was no forensic evidence? and what your real motive might be for murdering your daughter, besides a desire to party?
