The fifth season premiere of The Vampire Diaries airs Oct. 3 — that’s just 23 days away for those of you keeping score at home — and The CW has finally rolled out the first official stills from the highly anticipated episode. Along with our first real look at Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) in college, we also get to see how some of Mystic Falls’ finest have fared over the summer.
A new school year means a new enemy for Elena (Nina Dobrev) on The Vampire Diaries — and because this is The CW we’re talking about, Elena’s new foe is as wickedly attractive as he is, well, wicked! EW.com reports that Aussie actor Rick Cosnett will appear on the show’s upcoming fifth season as biology professor Dr. Wes Maxfield, and it doesn’t take long for Elena and Caroline (Candice Accola) to grow suspicious of him.
The Vampire Diaries doesn’t return for its fifth season until Oct. 10, but the stars are already hard at work filming the premiere episode! And because they love their fans just as much as we love them, Mystic Falls’ finest are sharing the experience on Twitter. From Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) ring to Caroline’s (Candice Accola) first day at college, we’ve got plenty of first-look photos to whet your appetite.
Caroline may not be lucky in love on The Vampire Diaries, but in real life, Candice Accola is doing just fine! The actress, 26, is officially engaged to long-time boyfriend Joseph Aaron King, who popped the question during the couple’s recent trip to Florence, Italy.
Pictures can be deceiving — especially when they’re snapped in Mystic Falls — so when I chatted with Candice Accola on May 2 at the annual Tick-Born Disease Alliance benefit in NYC, I brought along the above photo for her to explain what the heck is going on between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline on The Vampire Diaries season finale. As it turned out, she’d never seen it before! “Why do they always take pictures when he’s abnormally close to my face?” she asked. “I do not look happy right there.”
Candice Accola looked picture perfect May 2 at the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance‘s annual benefit, which honored inidviduals affected by tick-borne diseases and raised awareness about the “national health crisis they pose.” But the Vampire Diaries star wasn’t just smiling for the cameras; she was there to MC the TBDA event, as Lyme disease is serious illness that hits very close to home for her.
With only three episodes left on The Vampire Diaries this season, everyone is reaching their breaking points, and we’re going to have a front-row seat to all the action. Before you watch the May 2 episode, check out these three sneak-peek clips from the intense hour, beginning with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) butting heads over a certain inhumane doppelganger.
