Itā€™s time to send prayers to the Prince of Darkness. Fans of Ozzy Osbourne received an update on his condition after undergoing surgery that his wife, Sharon Osbourne, said would ā€œdetermine the rest of his life.ā€ Good news! Ozzy, 73, seemed to come through the ordeal a-okay. ā€œOur family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzyā€™s surgery!ā€ Sharon, 69, said when sharing news of her husbandā€™s procedure on Tuesday, June 14. ā€œOzzy is doing well and on the road to recovery. Your love means the world to him.ā€

Sharon first mentioned that Ozzy would undergo a ā€œmajor operationā€ on June 13 during a June 10 edition of the UK chat show, The Talk. After Sharon said she would be by her husbandā€™s side for the surgery, she said that this procedure was ā€œreally going to determine the rest of his life.ā€ She didnā€™t disclose what the surgery was, but this revelation came a month after Ozzy revealed he was waiting to have neck surgery.

ā€œI canā€™t walk properly these days,ā€ Ozzy said to Classic Rock in May, the same month he was photographed using a cane to walk. ā€œI have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road. ā€¦ At f-cking seventy-three Iā€™ve done pretty well. I donā€™t plan on going anywhere, but my timeā€™s going to come. ā€¦ I hope I can do more gigs. I canā€™t wait to see you all again. God bless you all, and stay safe.ā€

In April, Sharon revealed sheā€™d be returning to the US after learning that Ozzy had tested positive for coronavirus. ā€œI am very worried about Ozzy right now,ā€ she said during The Talk, per NME. ā€œWeā€™ve gone two years without him catching COVID, and itā€™s just Ozzyā€™s luck he would get it now. Itā€™ll take me a week to get my old man back on his feet again, and I will be back [on The Talk] in a weekā€¦ Weā€™re gonna get him a negative test by next week.ā€

In January 2020, Ozzy shared that he was diagnosed with Parkinsonā€™s disease a year earlier. ā€œItā€™s been terribly challenging for us all,ā€ he said. ā€œI got a numbness down this arm for the surgery, my legs keep going cold. I donā€™t know if thatā€™s the Parkinsonā€™s or what, you know, but thatā€™s ā€” see, thatā€™s the problem. Because they cut nerves when they did the surgery. Iā€™d never heard of nerve pain, and itā€™s a weird feeling.ā€

Sharon said Ozzy had PRKN 2. ā€œThere are so many different types of Parkinsonā€™s; itā€™s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body,ā€ she said. ā€œItā€™s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.ā€
