Simon Cowell certainly isn’t wasting any time getting back in the saddle after recuperating from a broken back. The America’s Got Talent judge, 61, was spotted riding a jet ski on December 16 while on vacation in Barbados, and he looked the picture of health. Simon was all smiles as he cruised around in the surf with his longtime love, Lauren Silverman while wearing a pair of light blue board shorts and an orange life vest for safety. They were later seen strolling on the beach and enjoying time at Brandon’s Beach and Rascal’s Waterpark.

It’s incredible to see Simon in such great shape already. The American Idol alum just recovered after experiencing a horrific electric bike accident in August. Simon sadly had to undergo an extensive, six-hour surgery, undergoing numerous procedures, including having a metal rod inserted into his back. He was forced to sit out season 15 of America’s Got Talent as he healed from the surgery and completed physical therapy.

A source close to Simon gave HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVE details about his electric bike accident in August. “[Simon] was testing the new bike pretty slowly and just in the turning circle in the courtyard of the house,” they explained. “And as he changed gear, the bike flew up in the air in a huge wheelie and he fell off backwards, landing on his back.” Two months later, as he celebrated his 61st birthday, we got another update about his condition.

[Simon] is doing as well as one could be after back surgery, and he knows that he really dodged a bullet. He could easily be paralyzed, or worse, dead,” a source told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. He was also thankful for the time he got to spend bonding with his six-year-old son. “Eric is really stepping up and helping out,” the source added.
