Jennifer Lawrence, is that you? On December 1, the Oscar-winning actress, 30, was spotted on the set of her upcoming movie sporting a fiery new look. Jen, fully in character, was seen wearing a chestnut red wig instead of her usual blonde locks. The wig’s length was cut just to graze Jen’s shoulders, and she worked some fringe, which framed her face. You can see the before and after pics below!

It’s a bold new look for the star, but it’s honestly nothing new for the actress. Over the course of her career, Jen has totally transformed into different characters and earned praise for her work in films like American HustleWinter’s BoneThe Hunger Games and more. In each of the projects, Jen’s completely become the character she is playing, down to every detail including her hairdo.

But this recent character appears to be one of her most bold, aesthetically speaking. Jen is currently filming her latest project Don’t Look Up, a film directed by Oscar-winning writer Adam McKay (The Big ShortVice). The movie is currently shooting in Boston, MA, and everyone onsite is adhering to strict COVID-19 guidelines, as seen by Jen’s face shield in the above photo.

The actress is in good company among her cast mates. Starring alongside Jen is Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, who was seen with Jen when the above photo was taken. The movie has a stacked cast of Oscar winners and nominees alike, including Cate BlanchettMeryl StreepJonah HillTimothée Chalamet, and more. The 2021 satirical comedy follows two astronomers who try to warn the people of Earth that a meteorite is en route to destroy the planet in six months, per IMDb’s logline for the film.

Along with Don’t Look Up, Jen has a slew of projects on deck in the months — even years — to come. The Silver Linings Playbook star is also set to work with Adam McKay again on the film Bad Blood, about Elizabeth Holmes, and work with Ron Howard on the biopic Zelda, in which she’ll star as Zelda Fitzgerald. For now, however, Jen will be rocking her red locks as Don’t Look Up continues production.
