The Huskies are coming off a nearly perfect 11-1 season, dropping their only game in a shocker against the USC Trojans in week 11. Their play has been so dominant that if they can push through a victory at the Pac-12 championship, they should be a lock for the College Football Playoffs.Washington goes up against a strong Colorado Buffaloes squad, who finished the season ranked number eight, when the two teams meet at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA Dec. 2 at 9pm EST and we have your way to watch online! Washington head coach Chris Petersen is hopeful that a victory over Colorado will seal the deal for a spot in the College Football Playoffs. “If we take care of business, those people usually do the right thing,” he said before the game, adding that “If we can get over that hurdle,” they should be one of the teams named when the announcement comes Dec. 4.
It looks pretty hopeful for the Huskies according to the CFP’s top dog. “The committee continues to be impressed by what we have seen on the field from one-loss Washington,” said Kirby Hocutt, chairman of the CFP selection committee. “Their schedule is not as strong as others, but they have played and beaten good teams.”
Meanwhile Colorado is looking to cap off their Cinderella season that saw them go from last to first in the Pac-12 South, and a win could land them a spot in the Rose Bowl. While the Huskies are favored by a touchdown, the teams are fairly evenly matched with powerful quarterbacks in the Huskies’ Jake Browning and the Buffaloes’ Sefo Liufau and incredibly strong defenses. But Washington’s running back Myles Gaskin is a 1,000-yard rusher and could make the difference in the game.
