Hey BFFs, did you give any money during the huge telethon?
Can we all take a minute to give George Clooney a huge round of applause? The star-studded Haitian relief telethon he put together, Hope For Haiti Now, was a huge success! More than $57 million was raised, according to telethon organizers, and that number just continues to climb as even more donations are pouring in. Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the group overseeing the event’s funds, released this statement: “The public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti Now,’ and the donations continue to come in.” Read more
So much Disney star power in one vehicle. We can’t handle it!
Aww, it looks like the Disney Channel family really is as close as they all seem on TV. After last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon, the Jonas Brothers were spotted pulling out of CBS Studios with Selena Gomez, 17, in tow. Joe Jonas, 20, took over driving duty, while Kevin Jonas, 22, called shotgun and Nick Jonas, 17, chilled in the backseat with Selena. Wait a second — weren’t Nick and Selena romantically linked in 2008? We guess Taylor Lautner isn’t the only one who gets along well with his ex-girlfriends. There’s an epidemic of friendship going around between young Hollywood exes — and we’re happy to see it catching on! Read more
Madge, we can’t believe you’re 51 — you look incredible!
We felt like we’d stepped back in time while watching Madonna on last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon. Not only did she blow us away with her choir-backed rendition of her 1989 hit “Like A Prayer” — but she also didn’t look a day over 40! So what’s Madonna’s big secret to retaining her youthful glow? Is it all the pilates, or could it just be a side effect of keeping boy toy Jesus Luz, 23, around all the time? Either way, keep it up Madonna! You sounded just as amazing as you looked. Look at this photo of Taylor Lautner — he’s the meat in an ex-girlfriend sandwich!
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt weren’t the only ex-lovers reunited at last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon! Taylor Swift, 20, and Selena Gomez, 17, both bumped into their ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, 17, at George Clooney‘s all-star charity event — and things looked surprisingly good between the three of them. Since splitting in December, the Taylors have already been awkwardly forced into contact a few times, the first instance being at the People’s Choice Awards in January. But unlike Brad and Jen, Taylor looks like he’s still on friendly terms with his exes. It’s a rare sight to see Hollywood exes getting along so well, even at charity events. Taylor Lautner, you’re totally changing the game! Click here to read more & watch Taylor Swift perform!
Giving up your time for a good cause is admirable, but looking sexy while doing so is an even more impressive feat!
Rihanna, you looked super hot last night during your performance of “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” on the Hope For Haiti Now telethon. No matter what you’re performing, we know we can always count on you to show off your killer physique — and you definitely didn’t disappoint last night! We loved your look, from your leather hat and super-sized hoop earrings to your oh-so-short dress and matching jacket. Any tips on how we can make our legs look so amazing in a pair of heels? Rihanna, you’re practically flawless! You shared the stage with Jay-Z, Bono and The Edge to perform “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour),” which turned out to be one of the biggest performances of the night! It’s a hot song with a powerful message. We’re not surprised it’s currently No. 1 on the iTunes singles chart today! Click here to watch Rihanna perform & vote!
How did you manage to put everything together so quickly?
George Clooney, we hope you’re getting some much-deserved rest after everything you did to make sure last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon went off without a hitch. It didn’t surprise us to hear you say you hadn’t slept in days! You got more than 100 big-time celebrities to come together for this truly important cause, and you should be really proud of yourself. And even though you shrug off praise, saying that “Haitians are having a lot tougher time than us,” we just want to congratulate you on your incredible feat. Jen, we loved your performance — and your hair!
Wow, Jennifer Hudson, we can’t even find the words to tell you how beautiful your rendition of The Beatles‘ classic “Let It Be” was at last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon. You sang with such emotion, such conviction, we’d be surprised if your performance didn’t move many viewers to tears. And can we talk about your hair? It looks amazing, such a classic style. It kind of reminds us of the late, great entertainer Josephine Baker. Excellent all around, Jennifer! Click here to watch Jennifer’s performance & vote!
Seriously, is that thing for a movie role? Come on, R-Patz!
A very scruffy Robert Pattinson was among the many celebs on last night’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon, and he delivered a pretty interesting speech about the role technology and social networking are playing in the Haitian relief efforts. Yes, ladies, he’s hot and smart. He spoke via satellite from London, and we have a feeling he took off shortly after so he’ll be able to join girlfriend Kristen Stewart at her Runaways premiere tonight in Park City, Utah. Will you be putting “Stranded” on your iPod? Let us know!
In one of the biggest performances of the Hope For Haiti Now telethon, Rihanna and Jay-Z joined U2‘s Bono and The Edge for “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour),” a new song written specifically about the tragedy in Haiti. Rihanna looked phenomenal while she and Bono belted out the chorus (“We’re not gonna leave you stranded”) and Jay-Z chimed in with thought-provoking raps in between. R-Patz, are you trying to throw your fans off the trail? You’re virtually unrecognizable with your overabundance of facial hair!
Plaid shirt, check. Bushy beard, check. Highly suspicious body odor, also check. Well color us crazy that we didn’t see this coming – Robert Pattinson is totally morphing into Paul Bunyan.
The Twilight star, 23, either wants to become a woodsman or is trying to remain anonymous from his fans while home in London. But unfortunately for the onscreen teen vamp, we now have photographic evidence of his new look as of today, Jan. 22.
By George, there’s finally a man out there who’s all talk AND action!
Over the last week, George Clooney not only managed to gracefully (and handsomely) lose a Best Actor Golden Globe to Jeff Bridges, but he spent quality time with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, organized a star-studded telethon for Haiti and, now, has even dug deep into his own pockets to donate $1 million of his own moolah. What a guy!
Let’s not forget that George had already donated a substantial amount of money to Haiti: he and his Ocean’s 11 crew of Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Brad and producer Jerry Weintraub had already donated a combined sum of $1 million through their organization, Not On Our Watch. Which even usurps Gisele Bundchen’s humongous $1.5 million donation….no mean feat.
Everyone’s least-favorite big mouth is one celeb that wasn’t invited to take part in the charity event of the year. Hm…can’t say we really wonder why!
Kanye, you might want to stop checking your inbox (mailboxes are so last year) because you are NOT going to find an invite to George Clooney’s uber-event – a Haiti telethon – on Jan. 22. You’re not on the list, dude! Your on-stage antics at this year’s VMA’s – you know, the moment when you publicly dissed America’s Sweetheart Taylor Swift and declared Beyonce should have won instead? – pretty much secured your reputation as a loose cannon.
