EW.com reports that Susan has been given a starring role on his new ABC pilot Devious Maids, which as the title suggests, focuses on the trials and tribulations of four devious maids. Ugly Betty vet Ana Ortiz has already been cast as one of the maids, while Susan will play one of the maids’ employers.

Nicollette Sheridan claims Marc Cherry, the executive producer from her former show Desperate Housewives, was abusive to her on set and is firing back at insiders who claim she’s lying. The actress’ legal team issued the following statement to HollywoodLife.com in Nicole’s defense:
A source who’s very familiar with the inner workings of ‘Desperate Housewives’ doubts Nicollette Sheridan’s claim that show creator Marc Cherry slapped her over a disagreement: ‘Marc can err on the side of brusque … but I’ve never seen him be violent.’
