Josh Duggar and his wife Anna have made a comfortable life for themselves in an Arkansas small town, right near Josh’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar — and their 19 kids. But when Josh is offered a new job in Washington DC, the family must decide if it’s worth it to uproot their lives, and move to a big city.

Josh & Anna Think About Moving To DC

Josh was offered a job to move to Washington DC, but he and Anna aren’t sure if moving to such a big city would be the right move for them. They weight the pros and cons, some of the major cons being they would be so far away from their family — with whom they are super close.

They meet up with Jim Bob and Anna to talk about and pray over the decision, but it’s clear Jim Bob doesn’t want them to be so far away. He worries about his grandkids not even knowing their grandparents! Plus, DC is “a very populated place,” Jim Bob says, and important life aspects like church and family are most important — and are in Arkansas.

Jill & Jana Deliver Baby Samuel & He’s Rushed To The Hospital

Jill and Jana help deliver baby Samuel during a home birth through their midwifery apprenticeship, but something isn’t right with the little bundle of joy. They notice there’s a defect in his umbilical cord, which is similar to a hernia, and they call 911 right away. He’s rushed to the hospital, but luckily everything is fine! Mom and baby are happy and healthy, and he didn’t have any lasting effects from the birth defects.

Samuel’s parents say Jill and Jana were amazing during the delivery, and that they definitely have a future as midwives!

Meet Up With Joseph After Rescue Training

After Joseph has been in International ALERT Academy for rescue training, they finally get to visit him and see everything he has learned in training. Joseph won an award for scripture reading, and the family couldn’t be more proud — but they have to wait anxiously until they can even say hi or give him a hug!

While he’s in line with all of his other trainees, Jim Bob shouts at him and tries to get him to smile. He cracks a smile, but still keeps his composure — he’s a true professional! The family gets to see all of the skills he learned, and after a long day of ceremonies and watching their son, they finally get to give him a hug and take him home!

Josh & Anna Visit Her Family In Florida

Even though the Duggars are all one tight-knit family, Anna is close with her parents and siblings too — she just can’t see them as often since they live all the way in Florida! She wants her kids to spend as much time with her parents as they do with their Duggar grandparents, so a family visit is much overdue.

Plus, Anna can bond with her older sister, who just had a baby! Even though Anna is younger, she is giving advice to her older sis, and telling her the ins-and-outs of motherhood. Since Anna is pregnant with her third child, she’s pretty experienced! Anna says the first six weeks of your baby’s life is like “parenting boot camp.” Meanwhile, the boys have a blast driving four-wheelers around!

Josh & Jim Bob Have A Check-Up On Their Weight-Loss Progress

Just weeks after their initial physical and weight-loss journey, Jim Bob and Josh are back at the doctor’s office. They have seen significant progress in their overall health, and the doctor is impressed! Their times and heart rate levels on the treadmill test are noticeably better.

They just can’t wait until the final workout and weight-in with their trainer!

After Josh Duggar married his wife Anna Duggar in 2008, he has noticed that he and his bride have both gained some weight — about an extra dress size each year over the past four years. But while Anna has been pregnant three separate times, Josh’s added pounds are due solely to an unhealthy lifestyle, and he knows he needs to make a change.

Josh & Anna Duggar Need To Shed The Newlywed Pounds

Josh even says he has gotten comments from people who have noticed his weight gain, and compared to photos of when Josh and Anna first started dating, there’s a drastic difference. His dad Jim Bob Duggar could also stand to lose a few pounds, so both Duggar men agree to start on a healthy regimen – after they indulge in one “last meal” filled with fried delicacies.

Josh & Jim Bob Start Working Out (In Jeans?)

To work off their deep fried dinner, the Duggar men embark on their first intense workout together, and enlist the help of the rest of the family for moral support. And while Jim Bob is worn out halfway through and both are on the verge of quitting, Josh is motivated by the fact that he wants to be healthy for his kids, and be there in the long run!

The guys and their wives also clean out all of the junk food at their house, leaving just fresh fruits and veggies and healthy options. Although it’s harder for Jim Bob with so many kids and tasty treats, the two are committed to shedding the necessary pounds.

Duggar Men Get A Physical

While their weight-loss efforts are all well and good, they want to get checked out by a doctor before continuing with their regimen — and the results of both of their physicals are pretty shocking.

Jim Bob weighs 214 pounds, and his son weighed in at about 10 more pounds than him. The numbers on the scale are a huge wake-up call, but the rest of their stats are even more frightening. Josh is at a major risk for diabetes, and his BMI is in the obese range.

Jim Bob also can’t stay on the testing treadmill for very long, and both guys get lectured about how if they don’t change their lifestyles now, it’s only going to get worse — and they need to stop killing themselves with bad habits.

Anna’s Sister Priscilla Comes To Visit

To lighten the tension, Anna’s sister Priscilla comes in town, and she’s also expecting! She and her husband stay with Josh and Anna for a little bit, and the guys totally bro-out while the ladies chat about pregnancy and catch up on girl talk.

All four even go house hunting together since Josh and Anna are looking for a new pad for their extending family. Although they found some… interesting options, they weren’t satisfied with any houses they saw, especially since none were in their price range.

When Josh and Anna Duggar came back from their vacation to China and Japan, they took a pregnancy test and found out they are expecting their third child! But even though they are celebrating their big surprise, they are waiting to tell the rest of the family the good news.

Instead of just calling up Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and telling them the amazing news, Anna decides she’s going to throw a huge surprise dinner for the entire family — 19 kids and all! But preparing a meal for 20+ is much more challenging for poor Anna than she thought, especially since she’s pregnant and tired, and has a small kitchen compared to Michelle’s industrial-sized cooking space.

The theme for the dinner is “baby,” although the couple isn’t going to reveal the good news until the very end. So for clues as to what the surprise is, Anna prepared mini burgers, baby carrots and peas, tater tots and pigs in a blanket. Instead of announcing the big surprise at the end of the dinner, Anna wants to present a pumpkin carved into a baby carriage as the big reveal!

Anna Asks Cousin Amy For Help

In order to get the entire meal prepared in time, she enlists the help of cousin Amy, who seems to be getting in the way more than helping. But she finally manages to carve the pumpkin without cutting  finger off, and they carefully arrange fruit inside with toothpicks to look like a baby in a baby carriage!

Jill & Jana’s Midwifery Apprenticeship

While Anna is slaving away in her tiny kitchen, Jill and Jana head off to work at the Midwifery, where they are serving as apprentices. Jill is studying anatomy anad physiology, and hopes to deliver babies, maybe even in Latin America with her Spanish knowledge. Jana, on the other hand, wants to be a doula, and enjoys more of the coaching side of pregnancy.

They work at A Mommy’s Butterfly Midwifery, and have several couples that come in every day. The girls say it’s exciting to see the development of babies from early pregnancy until when they are born, and they enjoy geting to know the clients. They also are learning about both prenatal and post-partum care, but are building relationships with couples along the way.

Duggar Family Arrives For Dinner Early

Back at the house, Anna is putting together the finishing touches of the dinner, and is scrambling to make sure everything is done OK. Josh comes home, and is impressed by all of the food and work — especially the pumpkin baby carriage.

But with no warning, the Duggar family all shows up together early! Anna, Josh and Amy are in no way prepared for the guests yet, and lock all of the doors so the kids don’t try to sneak inside. Finally, after waiting for 15 minutes, they are allowed in — and Jim Bob is genuinely impressed by the spread.

Anna and Josh explain that the dinner has a special theme and they should all guess what it is based on the food. After dinner, they each fill out pieces of paper with their educated guess. Most of their speculations were all over the place, considering the food choices were a little random. There were a few odd guesses — they were opening a restaurant, Amy is getting engaged, they were moving, etc.

Anna & Josh Reveal: We’re Expecting Again

After much anticipation, Anna and Amy bring out the fruit baby carriage and announce the good news — Josh and Anna are having another baby! Everyone is excited, and many of the guests even had the right guests!

For their winning door prizes, they were given diapers with chocolate bars inside. Graphic image, but the food looked delicious, at least the way the kids were eating it.

Now, it was time for everyone to guess the gender of the baby, and it was pretty split 50/50! Too bad we already know that secret — Josh and Anna are having a boy!

The Duggar family continues to grow! Earlier this month, Josh Duggar, son of 19 Kids and Counting parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, traveled all the way to New York City with his wife Anna Duggar to announce their third pregnancy. With the arrival of the baby, there will no longer be an even number of boys and girls in the Duggar household any longer! This time Anna, 24, will be giving birth to a baby boy in June, according to a recent report by People.

Josh & Anna Duggar Expecting A Baby Boy

Not only did Josh & Anna discover their baby’s gender, but they also filmed the news for their family’s show, which airs Tuesdays at 9 PM on TLC.

“We didn’t know the results,” Josh, 25, tells People. “But we gave them [from the doctor] to the sound guy, Jim, and he planned out this very unique reveal. It caught us off guard in a time and place we least expected.”

Josh & Anna Duggar Talk About Having Another Baby

The couple already has two children, their daughter Mackynzie, 3, and son Michael, 21, months. The two reaveled that like Josh’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle, they are willing to welcome as many children as “God gives [them].” Each pregnancy is unique and exciting and every child is a new gift, he says.

“Oh yeah, we have this all figured out,” says Josh, with a laugh. “No. The most seasoned parents will confess their inadequacy. Each child is so unique and so different. It is just amazing.”

Anna is so excited to give birth to her second son! She mainly wants to focus on getting to know each of her children.

“I am so thankful for our children,” she tells People. “It is not about having a bunch of babies. It is about enjoying each child God has given you and focusing on every day that you get with your child.”

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar took their entire brood to New York City, including son Josh Duggar, 25, and his wife Anna Duggar, 24, to reveal some good news — Anna is pregnant again! The couple is already parents to two adorable kids, and there is a third on the way!

On Today show, the couple, who are parents to Mackynzie, 3, and Michael, 21 months, revealed they are expecting their third baby in June. Although they haven’t picked out a name yet, they hinted on Today that they might choose another “M” name to go along with the theme!

Although Josh famously comes from a big clan, Anna mentioned that she actually comes from a small family — and is excited to welcome more kids into their home!

The Duggars Return To TLC For Three-Part Special

The Duggars revealed they will make their triumphant return to reality TV on March 12 with a three-part special that follows their family vacation to Asia. The huge family kicks off their Asian vacation with a trip to Japan. Jim Bob revealed on Today that bringing all of their kids overseas was an educational, but also a culture shock for them and the locals because they have so many kids — and many families in Asia just have one child!

Michelle & Jim-Bob Duggar: Proud Grandparents

With 19 kids of their own and two grandkids already, Michelle and Jim Bob are so excited to welcome another baby into their family. As the Duggars keep growing, we can’t wait to watch all of their adventures on TV!

As uncle Jason puts it, ‘Get ready for a lot of people,’ baby Michael!

Now that the newest addition to the Duggar Family has arrived — Josh and Anna’s son Michael James — the 18 other Duggar kids, as well as Jim Bob and Michelle, want to share their advice and life lessons! Can you guess what the biggest piece of advice is?

“Obey your parets and love God,” Jinger, 17, says, with Justin, 8, Jennifer, 3, and Johannah, 5, agreeing that the baby should “read the Bible and study the commandments.” Too cute!

But of course, grandma Michelle wants to make sure Michael knows, he’s “in for a ride!” “You’re going to have a lot of cousins… well aunts and uncles who are going to love you to pieces!” Michelle says.

We must say though, the funniest tid-bit of advice came from Jackson, 7, who blurted out, “Make sure you get to the computer before everybody else does!” Haha! Times are a changing!

Ever since the news broke that Josh Duggar and his wife Anna welcomed their second baby, we’ve been anxiously awaiting the cliffhanger — what did they name their son? We knew they were keeping up with the “M” theme (their 20-month-old daughter‘s name is Mackynzie), so what did they choose? 

They decided on the name Michael James, after both their fathers! (On Father’s Day weekend!)
