Vampires may be all the rage on TV these days, but NBC’s foray into the world of the undead is going to be a little different than what we’re used to seeing. Rather than attempting to modernize its vampire, Dracula goes totally old school, delivering a fresh look at the Victorian horror icon. And with Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the title role, and the producers of Downton Abbey at the helm, how can Dracula possibly go wrong?

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, known for his portrayal of the womanizing, power-hungry King Henry VIII in Showtime’s The Tudors, was found collapsed on the floor after paramedics rushed to his home on Tuesday night.  After 30 minutes of attempting to treat the out of sorts actor, police responded to the scene and took him to the hospital. 

The Sun reports that the 33-year-old star had initially refused treatment from paramedics, which is when authorities were called and forcibly brought Jonathan to the hospital.   Thankfully, he was discharged early yesterday morning with no new information surrounding his current status.

According to Us Weekly, Jonathan did not try to commit suicide. “It was not a suicide attempt. He did relapse and was hospitalized for that, but was released,” an insider revealed.

Like his character Henry VIII, the former Hugo Boss model has been having trouble battling his personal demons lately.  Earlier this month, it was reported that Jonathan was admitted into a South African rehab center — his fifth stint — after having uncontrollable shakes due to alcohol abuse.

Jonathan — who won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the 2005 CBS miniseries Elvis — has been out of the spotlight since the 2010 finale of The Tudors.  Since then, he has starred in From Paris with Love aside John Travolta and the supernatural thriller Shelter with Julianne Moore.

Of all the people to stop by Martha Stewart‘s kitchen, we never expected to see Jonathan Rhys Meyers! A domestic wizard spending time with a notorious Hollywood bad boy is definitely not something you see every day. We caught the odd couple on a re-run of the Martha Stewart Show while skimming through the channels July 23.

According to Martha, if she had been one of his wives on The Tudors, he “would have been in trouble! You would have been a better king!”

After watching him work in the kitchen, we think Jonathan definitely has some potential — and maybe it’ll keep him out of trouble!

After four incredible seasons the Showtime series goes out with its most heartbreaking and amazing episode yet!

The time has finally come Tudors fans! After four seasons, the series ends tonight with an episode that shows King Henry facing his own mortality. Grab the Kleenex, you are going to need them!

We cannot give much away but as you see in the clip below, Henry must bid adieu to his two daughters and queen as his final days approach. Jonathan Rhys Meyers performance in this show has been simply amazing, as evidenced in his transformation from season 1 to now. All we can hope is that Showtime has a series based on Mary and Elizabeth in the works!

OH NO, my favorite, sexy Tudors star is headed to detox for an alcohol addiction AGAIN!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 32, I’m so worried about you! A source tells PEOPLE you’re headed to a London treatment center for alcohol addiction BUT this isn’t the first time! You went to rehab in 2007 for the same thing after being arrested a few months earlier for being drunk at the Dublin airport!

JR, I’m a devoted fan of your Showtime series The Tudors, and I’ve been following you for years! I’m shocked you haven’t yet managed to kick your habit of hittin the bottle!

“He just really wants to get better,” reveals the source. “This has been an ongoing battle for him.”

Jonathan, I really hope you get better! All of your loyal fans are sending positive energy your way!

But it’s the beginning of the end! How do you feel about this being the FINAL season of The Tudors?

The long awaited season four premieres this Sunday, April 11, at 9 p.m. ET, on Showtime … but, the beginning of a new season also means the END of a much loved show! Are you ready to say goodbye? From the start of this season, age appears to have severely changed Henry’s manner. He looks much older, and seems more concerned about his health, as well as the succession of the crown to his son. But he continues to manifest his youthful interests in women! “It’s about a year down the line since you last saw Henry with [wife] Katherine Howard (played by Tamzin Merchant, 23)” Jonathan says of his character.

But despite being married to such a young queen, “you can see the illness in his leg, the syphilis, and the several other diseases he has, are starting to take control of his mind. He’s starting to age a lot quicker. The pressure and the stress is aging him as well,” Jonathan explains.

Could this mean that death is in the air for the “notorious” king? Despite the Henry’s infamous history for his multiple marriages and countless character flaws, we’ve grown to love him and this show  … especially the scenes where Jonathan rips of his shirt!

So, what are we going to do when when this season is over?

Jonathan says the most important thing Henry ever did with his life: “He gave [England] Elizabeth, who I think is the most monumental monarch.” And the fact that Elizabeth’s character is so young on the show could suggest that Showtime may be thinking about carrying on The Tudors legend with a follow up series based on her! Which would be great!
