Bio:
Garry Marshall (born November 13, 1934 in The Bronx, NY) was an actor, director, writer and producer. Garry, who attended De Witt Clinton High School and Northwestern University, is credited with creating Happy Days and its spinoffs, adapting the 1965 Neil Simon play, The Odd Couple for television, and directing the films Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day, The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. In his early career, Garry wrote for The Tonight Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Joey Bishop Show, The Danny Thomas Show, and The Lucy Show. In 1997, Garry was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. He died on July 19, 2016, at a hospital in Burbank, California due to complications with pneumonia after a stroke. He was 81.

Personal Life:
Garry was the son of Marjorie Irene, a tap dance teacher, and Anthony Wallace Marshall, a director. He had two siblings, actress and director Penny Marshall and TV producer Ronny Marshall Hallin. He was married to actress Barbara Marshall and they had three children together.
