Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis have a new addition to their family! The New York Knicks forward, 30, announced the arrival of the little one, a baby boy, via Twitter on May 22.

It’s Another Boy For Amar’e Stoudemire

The couple were married Dec. 12, 2012 in a secret ceremony, and already have three children together– Ar’e, 7, Amar’e Jr., 6, and Assata, 4. Amar’e shared the news of the baby on Twitter May 22.

“We are proud to announce we added a healthy baby boy to the Stoudemire team. Alexis and the baby are doing great. #Blessed,” he tweeted.

Family Is The Most Important Team For Amar’e

The power forward, who lost his father at the age of 12, makes being a good father his top priority. On the NBA star’s website, his wife shares just how important fatherhood is to Amar’e.

“Amar’e is always there. Because we hold our children’s futures in our hands, it is our job as parents to nurture them and to show them what good parents are through education, involvement and leadership. Amar’e exudes this on so many levels and not only am I blessed to be married to him, but to be his best friend and for him to be the father of our three children.”

Amar’e And Alexis Are A Great Parenting Team

When the couple first announced they were expecting their fourth child, they told People magazine how they work as a team to keep their family close.

“She does it all,” he told People. “She does such a phenomenal job with the kids. I’m just here to be the big teddy bear.”

“As soon as Amar’e walks into the door those kids are all over him,” she said. “He’s like a big kid. He’s a great dad.”

Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis had a big year in 2012 — they got engaged in Paris in June and got married on top of their New York City apartment on Dec. 12, 2012 (12-12-12) — and now are ringing in the new year with happy baby news!

“We’re blessed that we were able to extend our family,” Amar’e, who is a forward for the New York Kincks, told People. “We’re both huge on having a nice size family. It was something we’ve been talking about for a while. It happened naturally and at the right time so it all worked out.”

The couple, who already have three children together — Ar’e, 7,Amar’e Jr., 6, and Assata, 4 – say their kids also can’t wait to add a fourth.

“They’re very, very excited,” Alexis told the magazine. “They just keep guessing if it’s a boy or a girl.” And if the NBA star has his way, they will find out the gender sooner rather than later — he said he can’t wait to see if it’s a boy or a girl!

Keeping Their Family Together While Amar’e Tours With The Knicks

And while the athlete is on the road playing for his team, he says his wife keeps the household and the family together. “She does it all,” he said. “She does such a phenomenal job with the kids. I’m just here to be the big teddy bear.”

NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire surprised fans by announcing on Twitter that he married Alexis Welch in a secret ceremony at sunset on Wednesday Dec. 12, making the rare date that much more special to them!

Amar’e and Alexis reportedly married on the roof deck of their apartment on Jane St., according to Confidential.

To make the date even more special, the couple only invited 12 guests to witness their union. “They decided to do this because of the date, and they wanted to do something spiritual and private for themselves,” says one insider.

Later this summer, the couple will allegedly throw a bigger wedding and invite guests such as Amar’e's teammates, who were unaware of the secret ceremony.

The guest list this time around involved their family, including their three children together.

“[The ceremony] was so pretty and intimate,” adds a source.

Following the nuptials, Amar’e tweeted, “12.12.12 now has a special & spiritual meaning for us…” They also attended the 12.12.12 concert at Madison Square Garden, benefiting those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

According to the report, Amar’e and Alexis started dating in 2002 and got engaged June 2 outside the Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile in Paris, overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Amar’e proposed to Alexis with an 8½-carat diamond that cost more than $1 million!

NBA basketball star Amar’e Stoudemire is currently in the midst of an investigation by the NBA after he sent out a “homosexual slur” to a fan on Twitter on Sunday June 24 — the same day as NYC Gay Pride Day!

A source told The Post  that the NBA plans to look into the authenticity of the profane message.

It was definitely not cool for Amar’e to send such a cruel message — especially on the day of NYC’s Gay Pride Parade — but we’re happy Amar’e apologized for his actions!

During a romantic Parisian vacation, New York Knicks captain, Amar’e Stoudemire, asked his girlfriend and mother of his three children, Alexis Welch, for her hand in marriage June 2.

The two were standing on the private penthouse at the Le Meurice Hotel admiring the view of Eiffel Tower, when Amar’e popped the question, reports Page Six.

“Having Amar’e ask me to marry him while overlooking the Paris skyline seemed like some sort of romantic fantasy,” Alexis gushed. “Amar’e put so much care and thought into every detail to make it special for us. We are truly blessed!”

Celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar designed Alexis’ giant diamond ring. “I have been planning my proposal for a while, and [Paris] … seemed like a perfect place,” Amar’e revealed. “I am so happy she said yes, and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife.”
