Alabama was the talk of the town on Jan. 7 when they beat Notre Dame 42-14 in the 2013 Bowl Championship Series in Miami, Fl., but it wasn’t just about football. The Twitter world exploded when cameras panned over to University of Alabama’s quarterback AJ McCarron‘s gorgeous girlfriend, Katherine Webb. It turns out she’s not just another pretty face, she’s currently Miss Alabama.

How The Buzz On Katherine Webb Started During The BCS Game

ESPN announcer Brent Musburger, 73, got the world interested in Katherine when he said during the game: “You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman.”

The camera continued to pan over to her and showed her cheering on AJ, even though the game appeared to be an easy win for the college team.

Katherine Becomes An Internet Sensation

Fans began to tweet things about Katherine like: “By far the best part of the #BCS game and my MVP is KatherineWebb! WOW! Roll Tide indeed! AJ is #blessed!”

Katherine went from about two thousand Twitter followers to over 100K! She took to Twitter to thank everyone for supporting her man: “So extremely blessed. Congrats to Alabama and making history! #BCSChamps.”

Who Is Katherine Webb?

Katherine was born in Montgomery, Al., and she graduated from Auburn University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management and Administration.

Her bio on her website states that she works at Chick-fil-A in Columbus, GA., but we’re assuming now that she’s the reigning Miss Alabama, she’s put that job on hold.

Katherine was crowned Miss Alabama in 2012.
