Bio:
Bubba Watson (born Gerry Lester Watson Jr. on November 5, 1978 in Bagdad, Florida) is an American professional golfer. Bubba played golf as a youth, joining the Milton High School golf team that featured future PGA member Heath Slocum and Boo Weekley. After graduating high school, Bubba enrolled in Faulkner State Community College in Alabama, playing golf for the school. He was named a junior college All-American. He transferred to the University of George and helped the school win the SEC title in golf in 2000. He turned professional in 2003 and joined the Nationwide Tour until 2005, after qualifying for the PGA tour in 2006. He earned over a million dollars as a PGA Rookie and led the tour in driving distance that year. He won his first PGA tournament in 2010, securing the Travelers Championship after a sudden-death playoff with Corey Pavin and Scott Verpank. He won his second tournament the next year at the 2011 Farmers Insurance Open. He had three top-5 finishes in 2012, before winning his first major championship with the 2012 Master’s Tournament. Though he struggled in 2013, Bubba bounced back in 2014 to win the Northern Trust Open and the 2014 Masters Tournament. He continues to play and is fast becoming one of the biggest stars in golf. In 2012, he purchased the General Lee vehicle from the The Dukes Of Hazzard movie and after the backlash against the confederate flag in 2015, he said he would paint over the design on the roof of the car.
