Sean McDonough (May 13, 1962) is an American sportscaster. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Sean graduated from Syracuse University in 1984. It was during his college years that Sean starting sportscasting, starting his career in 1982 as the play-by-play announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs. Four years after he graduated college, Sean became a sportscaster for the Boston Red Sox. In 1990 he joined CBS Sports, covering college basketball, college football, the College World Series, football, the US Open, and three winter olympics. In 2016 Sean became a household name when he was declared the new Monday Night Football announcer for the NFL.
