Bio:
Robert Durst (born Robert Alan Durst in Scarsdale, New York on April 12, 1943) is the son and heir of real estate mogul Seymour Durst. Robert made headlines first in 1982 when his wife, Kathie Durst (born Kathleen McCormack), mysteriously disappeared. Although he was questioned by police and accused by many, Robert was never charged in Kathleen’s disappearance — nor was her body ever found. Eighteen years later in 2000 the case was re-opened when police believed Robert’s friend, writer Susan Berman, may have knowledge about Kathie’s disappearance and alleged murder. That same year, Susan was found shot dead execution-style in her California home. Once again Robert was questioned but never charged in Susan’s death. At the time of her murder, he was allegedly living in Texas where he cross-dressed as a woman where he hoped to escape the media attention of his wife’s disappearance. One year later Robert was arrested in 2001 after the body parts of his neighbor, Morris Black, were found floating in Galveston Bay. Despite being the only suspect, Robert was released on bail, and in 2003 he went on trial claiming that Morris’ death was “self-defense.” He confessed to dismembering Morris and dumping him in the bay, but was acquitted of murder due to his self-defense claims and his diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome. In early 2015 HBO aired a documentary series titled The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, in which the accused murderer gave his first-ever sit down interview. Due to new evidence uncovered during the docu-series, Robert was arrested on March 15, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana for a murder warrant issued by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Best Known For:
Being accused and allegedly connected to three different murders over two decades. In 2010, an indie film titled All Good Things profiled Robert’s life and the three deaths he was allegedly connected to. Ryan Gosling portrayed Robert, while Kirsten Dunst portrayed his first wife, Kathie.
Personal Life:
Robert married Kathie in 1973, and eight years after she went missing in 1982 he quietly divorced her.  In 2000 Robert re-married, this time to a woman named Debrah Lee Charatan.
