Randy Jackson (born Randall Darius Jackson in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 23, 1956) is an American bassist, singer, record producer, entrepreneur and television personality. He has been a judge on American Idol for 12 seasons, and and he is also an executive producer for MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. Randy began his career playing in bands, before having more success as a producer. He has won one Grammy, and he has produced music for many notable artists, including Mariah Carey, ‘N sync, Celine Dion and Madonna.

Personal Life:
Randy was married to Elizabeth Jackson, with whom he has one daughter named Taylor, but they divorced in 1990. He then married Erika Riker in 1995 and they have a daughter named Zoe and a son named Jordan. In 2003, Randy had a gastric band fitted and lost 114 pounds. He suffers from type 2 diabetes.
