Sandra Bullock is famous for giving back, so it’s no surprise that the Golden Globe nominated actress and Blind Side star reached deep into her pockets to help with the horrific situation Haiti. She donated a whopping $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to fix three of their facilities damaged by the earthquake in Port-Au-Prince. “I wanted to ensure that my donation would be used immediately to meet the needs of the Haitian people affected by this catastrophic event,” Sandra said Jan. 15 in a statement.
In the past, the gorgeous giver gave $1 million to victims of the Tsunami, which hit Asia and Africa in 2004, and gave hundreds of thousands to help victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in 2005.Read more

Plenty of celebs have been tweeting their thoughts and prayers for the people of Haiti after a devastating earthquake hit the Caribbean island on Jan. 12 but Alyssa Milano put her money where her mouth is and donated $50,000 to UNICEF. On her twitter page, Alyssa, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, tweeted, “★TWEET CHALLENGE★ I just donated $50,000 to UNICEF for #Haiti relief. Which corporation will match my donation?” Later, in an editorial to readers of the Huffington Post, Alyssa wrote, “So… it’s on! I challenge any corporation to match my $50,000 donation to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. 100% of every dollar will go directly to supplies that include tarpaulins, water-purification tablets, oral rehydration salts, family water kits, medical supplies, medical kits, food, shelter, and protection.” Read more

Rapper-producer Wyclef Jean was devastated by the 7.0 earthquake that befell Haiti and especially so its capital Port-au-Prince on Tuesday Jan. 12, and he’s appealing to everyone and anyone to help his homeland as it struggles to recover. Here’s the statement he issued last night:
“Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.
