Simona Halep (born in Constanta, Romania on Septemeber 27, 1981) is a Romanian professional tennis player. After picking up momentum as a junior tennis player, Simona first gained worldwide attention in 2012, when she broke into the world’s top 50 female tennis players list. She immediately picked up speed in 2013, winning six WTA titles in just one year. In 2014, Simona made it to her first-ever French Open final. She lost in three sets, but continued to make a name for herself. She also reached the WTA Finals in the same year, and lost against reigning champion, Serena Williams.
