Bio:
Kimbo Slice (born Kevin Ferguson in Nassau, Bahamas on Feb. 8, 1974) was a former boxer and MMA fighter until his death on June 6, 2016. In professional boxing, Kimbo boasted an unbeaten record of 7 wins from 7 fights, with 6 of those being knockouts. In MMA he boasted an 8-6 record, with 4 of those coming through knockout. After working jobs as a bouncer at a strip club and a limousine driver for a porn company, Kimbo began his career in unsanctioned street fights in 2003. In his first taped fight against an opponent called Big D, he cut his opponent’s left, which earned him his nickname ‘Slice.’ He was then called Kimbo ever since his childhood.
Best Known For:
Kimbo was best known for his fight with Houston Alexander at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale. It was a fight that many expected wouldn’t go past round one, but Kimbo won the battle with a unanimous decision, which made him a pay-per-view draw.
Personal Life:
Kimbo Slice was hospitalized on June 6, 2016, and died soon after entering the hospital. Before his passing, he lived with his family in Coral Springs, Florida. Kimbo was the father of six children: three boys and three girls. He was also engaged to long-time girlfriend, Antionette Ray.
