Dada 5000 (born Dhafir Harris in Cat Island, Bahamas on Aug. 4, 1977) is a professional MMA heavyweight fighter, who currently boasts a 2-1 record in the MMA. He was raised in Miami, where after a troubled childhood in which he bounced from several schools, Dada became king of the underground street-fighting scene. He made his MMA debut at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL in March 2010, defeating Cedrick “Killa Gorilla” James. He defeated his opponent in the first round, and a star was born.
Best Known For:
Dada is best known for appearing on the 2015 documentary Dawg Fight, which introduced him to the world. The film explores the underground fighting scene in the suburban ghetto of West Perrine, Fl.
Personal Life:
Dada suffered with the crippling disease streptococcus meningitis when he was a child, which forced his family to move to the US to seek medical treatment. After 6 months of treatment Dada’s mother Eleanor Stewart revealed that she was told by doctors he would be able to live a normal life.
