Astronaut Sunita Williams finally returned from her outstretched ISS mission in March 2025. See photos of her from before and after.
Sunita “Suni” Williams is an accomplished astronaut and retired U.S. Navy officer. As one of the most experienced spacewalkers in the world, with nine under her belt, she became the first woman to fly on a flight test of an orbital spacecraft when she embarked on the June 2024 Boeing Starliner crew test flight.
As Americans know, Suni was labeled as a stranded astronaut along with Barry “Butch” Wilmore when they performed the test flight for the Boeing Starliner. In what was supposed to be an eight-day mission in June 2024, the Starliner experienced technical difficulties, and Suni and Butch had to stay on the ISS for around nine months before finally returning home in March 2025.
