There’s going to be another new face in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom during the October 3 episode. Ezra Sosa is stepping up and dancing a cha cha with The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson on Latin Night. The news was announced just hours before the live episode.

Ezra Is Replacing Artem Chigvintsev
Ezra will be dancing in Artem Chigvintsev’s place since Artem, 41, tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the October 3 episode. Artem announced that he wouldn’t be dancing in an Instagram video. “So sad [to] announce but here it comes I will not be performing with @charitylawson tonight on @dancingwiththestars due to Covid ( Covid sucks ),” he captioned his post.
He continued, “But on a good news @charitylawson is still dancing tonight with amazing @ezra.sosa they had a tough week Ezra stepped in like a champ and they have been working really hard this last couple of days so please give them all the love and support you can…”
Ezra commented on Artem’s post, “Gonna do my best to make you proud Artem!” On his Instagram Story, Ezra also opened up about the sudden change in Charity’s partner. “As exciting as I am for this opportunity I know the situation is a tough one for my partner, gonna be there with you every step of the way Charity, and gonna do my best to make Artem proud!!! LETS GO!”
Ezra Is Working Behind The Scenes on DWTS Season 32
Ezra first joined the DWTS family as a troupe member in season 30. In season 32, Ezra is not a part of the troupe. His latest role is behind the camera.
Ezra was an associate choreographer for the season 32 opening number. “Even though my journey on the show has taken me behind the cameras this season, i love this family more than anything and im so excited to get to learn grow and watch all the incredible pros and stars this season!” he wrote on Instagram.
Ezra Competed on So You Think You Can Dance
Ezra was a contesting during So You Think You Can Dance season 16. He placed in the top 6. He was just 18 when he competed in the hit dance series alongside his sister, Stephanie Sosa.
Ezra Is Friends With JoJo Siwa
One of Ezra’s best friends is Dancing With the Stars alum JoJo Siwa. Ezra danced on JoJo’s D.R.E.A.M. The Tour in 2022. Ezra has posted several photos and videos of JoJo, 20, on his Instagram page.
Ezra Is From Utah
Ezra was raised in the Provo, Utah, area. Ezra’s father was a soccer coach for Brigham Young University. His father, Enrique, immigrated to the United States from Argentina. His mother, Lucrecia, came to the United States from Mexico.
“Yes, I came from two immigrant parents,” Ezra told The Salt Lake Tribune in 2019. “But we just really want America to see the blessing that dance was for us. And a lot of the time, all we had was dance and each other. Dance is what kept my family going.”
