Chris Young revealed that he’s lost 60 pounds this year in a new Instagram selfie on Tuesday, Aug. 15. The Famous Friends star, 38, looked pretty muscular in the new photo, as he celebrated how much weight he’s lost. While losing 60 pounds is no small feat, Chris said he still had more that he wanted to do in his “fitness motivation” post.

Chris appeared to have a shirt around his neck in the mirror selfie and a black cap on as he snapped the mirror selfie. In the caption, he wrote that he’s been dedicated to self-improvement. “This year has been dedicated to a lot of work on myself. Music wise AND in the gym,” he wrote. “Still not done, but down 60 pounds so yeah… Gonna leave this here.” Tons of fans and other country singers, including Cassadee Pope and Chuck Wicks, left compliments for Chris down in the comments.

In the selfie, Chris looked fantastic, and throughout the year, he’s chronicled different ways that he’s been dedicated to working out. He shared photos from going to Planet Fitness while on tour, just days before opening up about his weight loss journey.

As the singer said in his caption, it has been a big year for him, not only on his weight loss journey, but also in the music industry. Most recently, he dropped his single “Young Love and Saturday Nights,” which interpolates the guitar lick from David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel.” Chris has shown his fandom for the late Ziggy Stardust songwriter while promoting the track. “Not every day you get to cut a country song with David Bowie credited as a writer. Thankful to have been trusted to release this one,” he wrote in a recent post.

The single came two years after his last album Famous Friends, which hit the number three spot on the Billboard Country Charts and 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. Chris also has tour dates until the end of the year, when he’ll wrap up a long run of shows at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in December.
