Tommy Hilfiger (born Thomas Jacob Hilfiger in Elmira, New York on March 24, 1951) is an American fashion designer. He has several product lines including his namesake brand, Hilfiger Denim, Tommy Girl, Red Label, Tommy Sport, Tommy and Tommy Jeans. Hilfiger chose to begin working retail at eighteen years old, as opposed to continuing his education. He would customize and resell pants and jeans that he purchased in New York City. His first store was called The People’s Place, which he opened in downtown Elmira in a commercial building’s basement. Hilfiger’s collections are famously “classic American cool style”; red, white and blue hues and preppy details are often incorporated into the products.

Personal Life:
Hilfiger first married Susie Carona, an ex-employee at one of his stores. They have four children: Alexandria (“Ally”), Richard, Elizabeth and Kathleen. Ally starred on the MTV series Rich Girls. Hilfiger and Carona have since divorced, and in 2008 he remarried to Dee Ocleppo. They have a son, Sebastian Thomas.
