Terry McAuliffe (born Terence Richard “Terry” McAuliffe in Syracuse, New York on February 9, 1957) is an American businessman and politician. He was chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2001-2005. He worked with the Clinton family, serving as a co-chairman of President Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign., and later as chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. He published his memoir, What a Party! My Life Among Democrats: Presidents, Candidates, Donors, Activists, Alligators, and Other Wild Animals, in 2007. He ran for Democratic nomination for Virginia’s governor in 2009, but did not get the bid. He won the 2013 election for governor in Virginia on Nov. 5, 2013. He will take office as Governor of Virigina on Jan. 14 2014.
