Sam Moore (born Samuel David Moore on Oct. 12, 1935 in Miami, FL) is an American soul singer, musician and songwriter. He rose to fame as half of the vocal duo Sam & Dave, with partner Dave Prater. The Grammy-winner made headlines on Jan. 17, 2017 for surprising fans by agreeing to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
