Roman Reigns (born Leati Joseph Anoa’i on May 25, 1985 in Pensacola, Florida) is an American professional wrestler and former football player. Roman grew up playing football in Florida. The Pensacola News Journal named him their Defensive Player of the Year during his high school career. Roman enrolled in George Institute of Technology, playing for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in 2006. Roman was unsigned in the 2007 NFL Draft, but he signed with the Minnesota Vikings. However, he was released within a month. In 2008, Roman played for the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League. He played one season before he was released. In 2010, Roman signed with the WWE under a developmental contract. He started to wrestle under the name Roman Leakee. He was renamed Roman Reigns in 2012 and debuted on the WWE main roster during the 2012 Survivor Series, along with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. As a singles wrestler, Roman went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championships and the 2015 Royal Rumble. He was in the Main event of WrestleMania 31, competing for the WWE Heavyweight Championship with Brock Lesnar and his former partner, Seth Rollins.

Personal Life:
Roman comes from a family of professional wrestlers. His father, Sika Anoa’i, was a professional wrestler who was one half of the Wild Samoans. Roman’s brother was Rosey in the WWE. His cousins include Yokozuna, Rikishi, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Roman married Galina Joelle Becker in Dec. 2014. They have one daughter together.
