Bio:
Lauren Potter (born Lauren Elizabeth Potter in Inland Empire, California, on May 10, 1990) is an American actress, producer, and special needs advocate. She began acting at the age of 16, landing her first role as Young Andra Little in the 2007 film Mr. Blue Sky. Lauren was cast on the hit show Glee in 2009, playing Sue Sylvester’s cheerleader and assistant Becky Jackson, a role for which she won the SAG/AFTRA Harold Russell Award in 2012. Born with Down syndrome, Lauren serves as an advocate for people with special needs through organizations such as the Down Syndrome Association, Best Buddies International, AbilityPath, Special Olympics, and the American Association of People with Disabilities. President Barack Obama appointed Lauren to the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities in 2011, on which she advises the White House on issues surrounding those with special needs.

Personal Life:
Lauren and her childhood friend Timothy Spear, who have known each other since they were babies in the same infant stimulation classes, have been together since they reunited while they were both living in Laguna Beach. On July 31, 2016, Lauren accepted a promise ring from Timothy, and the two will be married “when they are ready,” Lauren’s mom Robin Sinkhorn said.
