Bio:
Kristhielee Caride (born Kristhielee Yinaira Caride Santiago in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on July 8, 1991) is a Puerto Rican model and beauty pageant titleholder. Kristhielee competed in the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2014 pageant representing the municipality of Dorado where she finished in the Top 16. Two years later, Kristhielee competed in Miss Universe Puerto Rico Universe 2016 representing the municipality of Isabela, and won the pageant. However, on March 17, 2016 Desiree Lowry announced that Kristhielee had been stripped of her title after a controversial interview between Kristhielee and Venezuelan entertainment reporter, Patricia Vargas. According to the Miss Universe Puerto Rico Organization, the reason of her dismal is that she was rude and arrogant to a journalist during an interview. Although she did write a letter apologizing to the journalist and explaining to the organization she had been going through a problem and was “having a bad day,” it was later decided by Desiree and the organization’s owner, Luisito Vigoreaux, that she was not fulfilling her obligations as Miss Universe Puerto Rico. She had also missed multiple appearances scheduled by the organization with various excuses. Kristhielee was subsequently replaced by Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016 1st Runner-Up, Brenda Jimenez of Aguadilla who will now represent the island at Miss Universe 2016.
