Bio:
Evander Kane (born Evander Frank Kane on Aug., 2, 1991 in Vancouver, Canada) is the left wing player for the Buffalo Sabres hockey team. He entered the NFL in 2009, when he was the fourth player selected overall in the first round of the entry draft by the Thrashers. He had an unbelievable run in the minors, having won the Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League(WHL) in 2007. He finished as runner-up for the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 2008, and he was named to the WHL West First All-Star Team in 2009. On top of all that, he set the Giants’ franchise record for single-season goals in 2008–09. After playing for the Atlanta Thrashers and the Winnipeg Jets, he moved to the Sabres in 2015, where he aimed to overhaul the somewhat negative image he earned after some altercations with his Jets teammates.

Personal Life:
Evander was raised in Vancouver by parents Perry and Sheri Kane with his two sisters Brea and Kyla. Evander comes from an athletic background, with his dad being an amateur boxer and hockey player, and his mother being a professional volleyball player. His uncle, Leonard Kane, was a Canadian Ball Hockey Hall of Fame member, and his cousin Dwayne Provo played for the Canadian Football League, and the NFL as a member of the Patriots. Evander is dating model Mara Teigen, and won her back after a breakup in Sept. 2015 by buying a billboard in Los Angeles with her face and modelling company, plus “Love, Evander.”
