Bio:
Crackhead Bob (born George Harvey on August 23, 1959) was one of the most famous members of Howard Stern’s Wack Pack on The Howard Stern Show. Bob appeared as a regular on the program from 1995-2001, as well as on Howard’s other platforms, and in his movie, Private Parts. Bob joined the show after Stern Show staff noticed him in the crowd at several public appearances. They were intrigued by his strange speech impediment, which occurred when he became partially paralyzed from strokes while addicted to crack. The combination of the heavy impediment, plus his natural comedic timing, made him a perfect member of the Wack Pack. Bob (who couldn’t pronounce George anymore), would interview celebrities, do prank calls, and sing covers. He left the show in 2001 for personal reasons, but began appearing again sporadically afterward; his last visit was in 2007.
Best Known For:
Crackhead Bob is best known as a member of Howard Stern’s Wack Pack, and for having a large speech impediment due to paralysis from a crack cocaine addiction.
Personal Life:
Crackhead Bob became addicted to crack at the age of 25, and struggled to quit the drug for years. Though he experienced great success on The Howard Stern Show, he left in 2001 because drugs and alcohol were present at many of the public appearances they made, and he was trying to stay sober. But in 2005, he made a surprise appearance on the show, and his speech had greatly improved.
