Chiwetel Ejiofor (born Chiwetelu Umeadi Ejiofor in Forest Gate, London, England on July 10, 1977) is a British actor that attended National Youth Theatre and the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art. He starred in many films like Steven Speilberg’s Amistad, Othello and Dirty Pretty Things. However, he became a worldwide name in 2013 when he starred as Solomon Northup in 12 Years a Slave. He landed a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for the role.
