Bio:
Cara Mund ( born 1994 in Bismarck, ND) won the title of Miss America 2018 on Sept. 10, 2017. She grew up with dreams of winning the prize, taking Little Miss, Miss Pre-Teen and Miss Junior Teen crowns growing up in North Dakota. She won the state’s title in her fourth and final time competing as Miss North Dakota in 2017, which propelled her to the 2018 Miss America competition. She graduated from Brown University in 2016 with a degree in Business entrepreneurship and planned to study law at Notre Dame University before her big win as Miss America.

Personal Life:
Cara has received over $45,000 worth of scholarship money in her competitions leading up to her Miss America win. She performed a self-choreographed jazz dance to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” during the pageant’s talent competition. She hopes to one day become the first woman elected governor of her home state of North Dakota.
Charitable Causes:
Cara is active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It began when a sick friend died on Cara’s 14th birthday, and because the family requested that memorial donations go to Make-A-Wish. She started a fashion show called “A Make-A-Wish Passion with Fashion” that has raised $78,000 for 23 sick kids in North Dakota.
