Brooks Laich (born Evan Brooks Laich in Wawota, Saskatchewan on June 23, 1983) is a hockey player for the Washington Capitals. He originally started off with the Ottawa Senators and was traded. He also helped Canada win a silver medal at the 2003 World Junior Championships and at the 2010 World Hockey Championships. In 2011 he signed a six year $27 million contract with the Senators. He also made headlines in 2014 for surgery on a “tight adductor” that was causing him pain and he was out the rest of the season. Brooks popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Julianne Hough in August of 2015.

Personal Life:
Brooks proposed to Julianne in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in August of 2015 and they announced their engagement via Instagram. They met in December of 2013 and have been dating ever since. Together they have two dogs.
